Do you trust radiation food?

Most of the fruits and vegetables you find in stores have gone through irradiation to kill bacteria, germs, bugs etc. It significantly extends shelf life.
You can buy a tomato and keep it in the fridge for a month or more and it will not look any different.
It does destroy a lot of the flavour.
The claim is that despite going through radiation treatment, the food is not radioactive. Do you trust that?
To me this sounds far worse than having a Covid Vaccine, or any kind of Vaccine. You eat it almost daily, surely there has to be an accumulation of some kind.

@jshm2 Yea but radiation sounds more permanent. Maybe sometimes they fk up and leave it on too long and then you bite into it and your gums melt.

Radiation is a broad term. I doesnt mean nuclear radiation everytime.

Heaters radiate heat

When you dont shower you radiate smell

Radiate just means to give off energy.
Or to spread outword from a center point.
You can apply that to anything.
@GuyWithOpinions Food irradiation is a process that uses
ionizing radiation
to kill bacteria, insects, and parasites in food, extending shelf life and reducing foodborne illness risks. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulates this process for certain foods like spices, meats, and fresh produce.

@SoftIceCream so light radiation.
@GuyWithOpinions Ionizing radiation is a type of high-energy radiation that has enough energy to remove tightly bound electrons from atoms, causing them to become charged or ionized. This can lead to chemical changes in cells and potentially increase the risk of health issues, such as cancer.
The "accumulation" is the build up of crazy conspiracy theories in your mind. ;-)
