which fruit lasts the longest before it spoils?

The wife packed a Granny Smith apple or two in my lunch a few weeks ago, but I wasn't up for them at the time. I gathered up a small collection of a half dozen or so. In the past couple of days, I was in the mood for them, and they were just as crisp and tart as they would have been a month ago.

Apples, you can keep them out at room temperature.
I personally think they're better if you can keep them in the refrigerator and get them cold and of course that makes them last a little bit longer.

Green bananas tend to have a longer life than a lot of other fruit I buy.

In my fruit bowl… apples followed up by oranges

Oh and bananas go bad the fastest. 🙂
