Lovely plant! But interesting uses for hyacinth beans!

"Hyacinth bean is a plant whose seeds, pods, leaves, flowers, and roots are eaten. The seeds are also used as medicine to prevent pregnancy and for diarrhea and stomach disorders. Hyacinth bean has been grown as food for the beans, flowers, and leaves in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. It is also used to fix nitrogen in fallow land. Hyacinth bean has medicinal uses such as bringing down or getting rid of a fever, improving tone and strength in the abdominal region, and as a treatment for sudden stomach pain, vaginal and urethral inflammation, and heavy or irregular periods."

Did not know about the uses but I like the vegetable... it has a diff taste to the traditional beans.

Basically we cut into smaller pieces, separate the pods. Wash them.

Shallow fry in the pans after the onions.
