It's unacceptable for me. Our tomatoes ended in early September and I haven't had any since. Only conserved tomato puree from the glass bottles.

I pulled all my tomato plants up today. The few left on them were still green and ruined by the frost. But on a good note, my broad beans have sprouted and grow nicely over winter and I can start to harvest them in the spring.

I bet. I very rarely buy the 'fresh' tomatoes found in grocery stores, because most barely even taste much like a tomato.

@Piper I'm the same way. But for some reason every year about this time when the garden is finished I forget what a waste of money the store tomatoes are.

Agreed. And so expensive. I've made lots of preserves and relish to keep summer memories alive over the winter.
