I worked with a woman who hated to drink water, she preferred coffee or soft drinks. She did eat fruit & veggies though. She got bladder cancer after she retired and died from it.

@cherokeepatti if that's not an ad I don't know what is...

@Mellowgirl we all said the same thing, she probably got the cancer due to not drinking water. All that caffeine is dehydrating. The bladder and kidneys need to be flushed good.

@cherokeepatti agreed. I struggle with drinking water.
But I sure as hell make sure I find a way.
I have found having it warm better.

@Mellowgirl I like my water cold, fill a glass with ice cubes most of the time. But I can drink it straight out of the jar too (I filtered my water to get the chlorine & fluoride & other nasties out).

@cherokeepatti what do you use to filter your water?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@iamnikki A Berkey filter with two sets of filters

@Mellowgirl I used to have a Brita filter. But the problem is that although it may make the water taste better it doesn’t reduce heavy metals. I live in a city where some of the water wells that were used for part of the city for water was tested and had high levels of ARSENIC in it. I lived in an apartment complex for 11 years where it was the water source, tasted good, had no chlorine in it either. After I moved out students demanded a copy of the water testing. The university president had the person in charge to delay it so much that they finally got a test and it came back high in arsenic. The students put it on the front page of the newspaper. I moved to another apartment before that happened and we were on city water from the water plant. I used a Brita filter because of the chlorine taste in the water. About 6 years later the city had the water tested and it came back high in CHROMIUM HEXAVALENT, another heavy metal that is not good for health. One of the highest levels in the entire USA. I had a refrigerator filter and thought that was taking those metals out. But about 3 years ago the power went out during an ice storm and couldn’t get the water from the refrigerator. So I drank bottled water all day and into the evening. That night when I laid down to sleep I could feel my thyroid gland vibrating, it does that when I detox and lose weight. Just one day with clean water was enough to start that detox. I haven’t drank unfiltered water since. I went to the health food store and bought it by the gallon or bought it in bottles till I got my Berkey filter. I got a Covid Stimulus check and used it to buy the filter and extra set of chlorine filters. I have detoxed with celery juice for a month & hope that helped to remove some of those heavy metals from my body. I also use that filtered water and fill ice cube trays instead of using the ice maker on the refrigerator.
