A bit confusing

English has absorbed words from many languages.
For the rules of spelling and grammar there are usually exceptions.
When wanting to know the origin of a word, look up "etymology of...".

I often find that understanding the roots and origins helps me better appreciate the nuances of the word.

But the best news.......bananas aren't pineapples.

What really confuses me is apples on pine trees , how can that be?
Thanks I wasn’t confused enough already with the chickens fingers and the boneless ribs.

Do I have to Google what ananas are?
