Yes. I was really into organic gardening when I was in my early twenties, and the 2nd ex roto tilled a very large garden for me in our back yard. I flunked organic gardening miserably. 🤣🤣🤣 Those marigolds they tell you to plant around the edges of the garden really don't help. I had black fabric strips down to discourage weeds, but there were still SO MANY!!! Cut worms got my tomatoes, and everything else was stunted and feeble. If I could do it again, I would prep the soil with compost or some sort of remediation before planting.

I grew herbs in the small patch of garden I had about years later, and 15 years after that I had blueberry bushes at the edges of my yard, and grew strawberry plants.
@4meAndyou I like organic farming
AlyAngel · F
Ive a garden with basil, tomatoes, cucumber, bell pepper.
@AlyAngel have to grow basil. oregano and parsley. have a cold flat out in the yard and get them all year long
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@saragoodtimes I grew the most beautiful purple basil plant in a pot this year, I also did thyme, and rosemary.
Nanori · F
Yeah lots, our garden is full of them
@Nanori your display picture is really cute 🥰
Nanori · F
@Nanori 😄
Yes, tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs, rhubarb.

The herbs and rhubarb grew well. Those tomatoes the grubs didn't get were huge.
Cucumbers were decent.

Yes to both. I know this is hard to believe but carrots out of my garden were so much better than store bought.
@SW-User home grown always tastes better
SW-User
We have apple and damsons in our garden. Moving soon though. I will miss them.
@SW-User It won't be easy 🤗
SW-User
@SimplyLogicalDiscipline It's a much smaller garden so easier to manage but yeah everyone has loved a jar of damson jam.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
Every single year I grow our veggies and we also have ...strawberries, Raspberries, and Blackberries....edit..forgot the Blueberries 😁
of course I'm Italian. can't live without peppers and tomatoes in the summer and what good Italian doesn't have a fig tree in their yard
ElRengo · 70-79, M
I do it in part of my backyard.
Ontheroad · M
I started to say mostly vegetables but then remembered tomatoes and watermelons are fruits, so about half vegetables and half fruits.
@Ontheroad which vegetables?
Ontheroad · M
@SimplyLogicalDiscipline mostly snap beans, broccoli, peppers, and carrots.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35

mariannezap · 31-35, F
Yep, all the time. Got a few apple trees, pear trees, and persimmons. Plus a "winter garden" planted about two weeks ago.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Yes often, this year I just did potatoes and tomoatoes.
@JimboSaturn why don't you try fruits?
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@SimplyLogicalDiscipline I find fruit tress messy and the product is not that great here in Canada. Technically tomatoes are fruit lol
@JimboSaturn technically they are 😁
Lilymoon · F
I try to eat veggies and fruit every day. But I'm probably still not eating enough. 🤷‍♀️
@Lilymoon do you grow your own veggies?
Lilymoon · F
SW-User
I've grown a plethora of veggies. And fruits have been limited to pears and blueberries I think.
A few times.
I tried this year but.... the soil and my plants did not agree.
Everything, except the grapes, that grew tasted terrible.
Ducky · 31-35, F
No, but my parents have.
@Ducky what do they grow?
Ducky · 31-35, F
@SimplyLogicalDiscipline Dad grew tomatoes, mostly. Mom grew herbs like basil and parsley.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Most days I just have one serving of meat.
I've grown spices or herbs.
My parent did that.
@FoolishLuna same here 😄

We have a very special fruit in Malaysia as it grows nowhere else .... It is called the "HALAFRUIT" .... its very sweet to taste and very healthy.
Local witch doctors here give it a capacity for super sexual erections ...
I had occasion to get atop the thorny Palm tree and the pulpy fruit was so soft.... it kept breaking.....
