Can you eat kiwi fruit 'raw'?

If you wash it could you eat them like an apple or do you always have to peel them?

I think you can't, my friend at work says you can.

I peel them. I wouldn't dream of eating the skin 😱🤮

@Fluffybull I actually tried it and it wasn't what I expected. Washed it first and it was fine, no worse than a peach.
