Which is healthier? Which is tastier?

French fries made in vegetable oil or ones fried in beef tallow?

I know i don't like canola oil. Makes stuff taste fishy and is from a poisonous seed. Plus has to use industrial solvents for processing.

Probably shouldn't eat fries very often anyway.

I've heard that ones made in duck fat are really good.

I usually use olive oil now, but beef dripping is the best!

@RightOn Olive oil is always the best
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@nudistsueaz stiff is getting expensive. I saute with it but not deep frying.
There are lots of oils.

You should try a few, but stay away from the automotive ones...

@SomeMichGuy 20w stiluff is too fattening.

Air fry with no oil.

Vegetable oil is rancid. Tallow is easily assimilated and, not surprisingly, tastier
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@seaglass i think both of them will oxidize and go rancid.

@Tastyfrzz Eventually... but the veg oil is rancid on the shelf. Tallow is far more shelf-stable

Beer battered
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@Donotfolowme but what oil? Is your batter made with egg, cornstarch, and beer?
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
Duck fat every time!
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@Crazywaterspring was this with deep frying?
