Oh I so need multiple votes on this one! ;) For me the fall is all about the Apple! Apple pie (I make several varieties), Apple crisps, Apple fritters, etc, etc, etc. 😋

@Baybreeze Yeah, I'm not much of a pumpkin fan (yeah yeah, I know, it's sacrilege to say that) ... but apple and chocolate! Yum, my two favs as well.

Btw, there's a ice cream place up in Rhode Island where my cousin lives... they have seasonal offerings and in the fall they offer an apple ice cream (literal chunks of apple in a vanilla base) sundae with a warm caramel topping all sitting on a ...

a fudge brownie!!!!

Lol, way too big for one person to eat, but it's worth getting just to have what you can of it. I got mine with whipped cream and walnuts. Okay ... now I need to go visit her! 🤣

@Degbeme Hahaha, yup ... but nothing an extra mile or ten in my run won't solve. ;)
why you don't have "all of the above" as a choice is beyond me...i thoroughly hope to have them all by thanksgiving...and that's the canadian one in october 😋
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@beermeplease what type of desserts do you have on your Thanksgiving dinners?
@cherokeepatti pumpkin pie and pecan pie 😋
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@beermeplease same here in Oklahoma
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
When I can find it. Which is rarely. A south Eastern European/Turkish dessert called Halva. There are many types of Halva, yet all are made from sesame seeds.

Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@DeWayfarer I have had this and it’s delicious
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
I like the maple offerings that Aldi has ever autumn, their maple cookies were my favorite but they have gluten so no more for me.
FlowersInHerHair · 51-55, F
I gotta add caramel dipped marshmallows to the list.
asmallbear · 61-69, F
Toffee apples!

I love roasting pumpkin seeds and eating them

Fall is also one of the rare times I go to dairy queen and I buy a pumpkin pie blizzard.

Tim hortons also has pumpkin spice muffins or something like that
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@Jenny1234 I don't do Starbucks often but they have the BEST pumpkin bread loaf. Mmmm!! The blizzard sounds good!
ArtieKat · M
I love pecan pie - but it's not readily available in the UK :-(
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@ArtieKat No it is not good for that. It is the richest pie I have ever had. Pecans grow well here in Oklahoma, both native pecans and the larger variety. So pecan pie is a traditional pie for major holidays here.
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@ArtieKat I agree, it is so rich, not the best for diabetes/sugar levels. But hopefully you can find it /make it as a treat this fall :) My mom is diabetic too and she just has to take extra insulin for rich things (but she doesn't eat them often)
ArtieKat · M
@Baybreeze I'm on oral medication not insulin so it's not possible to compensate for sugar/carbs in the same way
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
I like to bake an apple cake with cinnamon in the fall, apple cupcakes are good too. Makes the house smell good and so tasty.
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@cherokeepatti mmmm I love apple treats !!
local market put out first of the season pumpkin pies last week. just couldn't resist picking one up

@SW-User was delicious
MoonMoon · F
i dont get it at all how some people consume pumpkin in a sweet way... thats disgusting. i like me a spicy pumpkin soup, or pumpkin slices with herbs out of the oven... but you dont put it into a softdrink or a cake. you wouldnt do that with onions or potatoes either
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@MoonMoon What about sweet potato pie? To me if a sweet potato is roasted properly it tastes like dessert even without anything added to it. I like to eat them cold as a leftover.
MoonMoon · F
@cherokeepatti *shudders* 😳
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@MoonMoon Pumpkin bread is so good.. have you had it? It's like a spice bread...so moist and delicious!!

Not because it's properly a fall thing, but because no chances in hell that I'm turning on the oven during the furnace months
caesar7 · 61-69, M

Musicman · 61-69, M
