These sound like good changes to me, but I hope you and others will somehow find opportunities beyond the gig economy.
@ThePatientAnarchist yeah but even with connections, I can't even get a proper job

Would you like to come to Texas where Minimum wage in Texas is $7.25 .

And if you're a tipped employee employers can pay you as low as $2.13 an hour 🙄 as if tips are guaranteed smh
@AngelUnforgiven converted to CAD, that's like 10 bucks up here...ewww

Minimum wages increase 3.5% from 1 July 2025

The Australian Fair Work Commission has announced a 3.5% increase to the National Minimum Wage and minimum pay rates under awards.

To access the new pay rates, you can now:

use our Pay and Conditions Tool
download an updated pay guide from our Pay guides page.
A reminder that any pay rate increase applies from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2025. For more information, go to Minimum wages increase 3.5% from 1 July 2025.

We’re still updating our other website information and resources with the new pay rates. These updates will be available from 1 July 2025.

The new National Minimum Wage will be $26.95 per hour.
@ShenaniganFoodie I'm from Canada, not Australia
And also even if I was, pretty sure it would still depend on the provincial, state, or territorial laws rather than federal for something like guaranteed minimum wage for couriers
