Bunny in the oven?

I don't mean to alarm any vegetarians or vegans, but does anyone enjoy old fashioned rabbit stew any more? I made it a couple of months ago trying to wean my husband off too much red meat. I was hoping he would like it and didn't expect too much but, hand down, it was the most scrumptious thing he had eaten. Mind you, he comes from London and used to eat pig's trotters his mother used to cook, jellied eels, and pie and mash, but never had rabbit. It's a good flavour and I want to try cooking it again soon, especially for a visit from his brother and his wife.

i've only ever eaten rabbit once and that was over 40 years ago. i remember liking it. i had it at my friends house whose parents were scottish....tasted much better than the haggis and black pudding they would occasionally serve 🤢

@beermeplease Haha.. my mum was a Scot so I know all about black pudding (which I loved and still do!) and haggis..
@Teileach maybe if i tried it in a traditional uk pub it might taste better...i'll have to make it over there one day.

@beermeplease You know, I've never seen it on a pub menu before. But they might have it in some areas.
@Teileach then it's bangers and mash.....and of course beer 😋

@beermeplease Haggis is dependant on where it is served it differs across Scotland the best I have had was at Skibo
@Longleggedlady if they have great scotch there (and i'm sure they do) i'll give it a whirl 😋
