always a gamble...picking out a good honeydew melon or potato

cooked pot of soup 5 hours and the potatoes were still hard. removed them from soup and boiled an extra hour on stovetop. STILL HARD!! last month left a baking potato in small crockpot couple hours and it was picked too early also.

I can't explain the soup.

But honeydews frustrate me. A good one is absolutely fantastic. But so many taste like cucumber.

I end up buying cantaloupe more, simply because it is safer. There is a good chance that it will be at least decent.

@DrWatson they aren’t ripe enough if they are similar to cucumber. Hard to tell when a honeydew is ripe.

Wow how do potatoes stay hard after cooking that long? Are you sure they are potatoes? Sounds like something synthetic.
