For others who like to tend the grill themselves perhaps...

Came across a fabulous alternative 🙂

Given enough space who you make use of it?

@Trippy How did you find this?
Trippy · F
@Bushmanoz I weld stuff. Always looking for ideas. 🤷‍♀️ You follow enough links on the internet who knows what you'll come across.

@Trippy Iasked because I was thinking, I might make one of these, not as big..but you weld?, Way to go Trippy, i do, but it lookslike a dogs breakfast usually, it holds, but looks awful
Trippy · F
@Bushmanoz Cool. Not as big indeed. That's a huge contraption by any means. I do. My dad was a welder. Learned to stick weld when I was about 10. Mig now... Professionally for three years. Haha... I strive for stacks of dimes but a weld that holds has served it's purpose 🙂

@Trippy Bugger, I envy good welders. I would loove to get into Tig, ive only ever been self taught, lol..plenty of looking over the helmet to see why there was no arc and of course..you get an arc.
Trippy · F
@Bushmanoz Trial and error is best. Thing is...it's not rocket science. Patients is the one factor it demands. 🤷‍♀️

@Trippy ell this was before the automatic helmets, I dont do a lot of welding, but its one of those things, when you need it you need it. I tend to just fix things now, like broken ride on deck etc. But Tig to me looks so satisfying if I could learn that, have you dont tig?
Bushmanoz · 56-60, M
@Trippy And it may not be rocket surgery but it's a very impressive skill to have, I might have to pick your brain about it
Trippy · F
@Bushmanoz Indeed. I've a liquid filled screen on my helmet. Self darkening as to eliminate the constant " flip". Learned by stick, or tig welding. Only difference from Mig is how you use the arc. Plus a constant feed on a Mig welder is much easier. In my opinion. Plus it's more diverse.
Bushmanoz · 56-60, M
@Trippy I will definitely listen to your opinion. So you havent done tig? not interested? one day youll have to show me some of your welds and projects
Trippy · F
@Bushmanoz Have. Otherwise known as stick. 🙂
Bushmanoz · 56-60, M
@Trippy here stick is arc welding
Trippy · F
@Bushmanoz Technically perhaps. In terms both Tig and Arc welding both fuse a rod or ' stick" in the weld itself. One produces a clear arc...one is consumed by it.

@Trippy Would you know a decent tig welder if you saw the specs? I have watched numerous videos but they all recommend American welders, and I need to find an Aussie equivalent.
