I make a soup with the ingredients I stuff peppers with. My daughter had a babysitter who put raw Basmati rice, lean ground beef, onions, salt & pepper and CINNAMON in peppers & cooked them in tomato sauce & water in a pan on top of the stove. So I use the same ingredients and add tomato sauce and water. It is one of my favorite soups in the winter to make.

@Sunnykel76 surprised me how well the cinnamon is in the soup and the stuffed peppers, I put about a tablespoon of it in the soup, mix it with the lean ground beef, onions and rice and drop small chunks of it in the simmering tomato sauce & water, takes a little bit of time to do that though.

@cherokeepatti I've never thought about pairing the 2 together. I love learning new things

@cherokeepatti
You're such a good cook. A colleague recently made a lemon and sage cake and it was delicious. It's amazing how much one herb can be so flavoursome. I'd never of thought of cinnamon in soup or sage in a cake.

@Sunnykel76 Believe it may be a Lebanese or Syrian recipe...somewhere in that region. I wouldn’t have thought of it either.

@Mouseinthehouse It might be good but I’d never think about pairing those together

@cherokeepatti they also put lavender in shortbread and that's nice too. I have so many herbs that I'm always looking for ways to use them

@Mouseinthehouse I saw dried lavender flowers in the produce section of supermarkets in Morocco, didn’t know what they used it for. Make a nice potpourri.
