I Love Cooking For People I Love

Now on my own, living on my own, I don't really cook for myself too much. If I do its something small, no more big meals, I have cut down on my portions recently, not eating as big. Now I know how to cook meals, proper meals, like Spaghetti Bolognese, something I can cook from scratch. I tend to focus on Pasta dishes because you can chuck anything into it, a pasta pot I would call it, where I would have both meat and vegetables in it. And if you are cooking for someone who is a veggie, takeaway the meat and they are left with something they can eat. On my own at times, I'm just not always that motivated, sometimes I would opt for the easy way, call the local takeaway or in the US that is takeout.

But if I am with someone, I really like or really adore, I know I would make the effort, I would be lot more motivated! I would be that type of person that would say "Eat out tonight? Sure, I'll cook for you" and you know, I'm not like someone of MasterChef, but I cook the meals that I would think would work the best and not go pear-shaped too much, like Pasta dishes, but Mash and veg, or Mash and beans and if they want to have tea and toast afterwards, by all means, I'll do that too. And I'm a believer of that, nothing too fancy, simple everyday meals are most likely what will impress the most. If you have a potential partner and you are dating and they are not too up on themselves, if you know how to cook a meal, that is a starting point.

This worked with my first girlfriend, she was content enough with the meal I made for her. The best thing though is when your partner interrupts your cooking and getting closer to you. I know the feeling of how the heart beats when you have that beautiful person beside you, slow and steady, and the breathing in sync. I don't know how this happened but she joined in the cooking with me, I guess, maybe this had something to do with her upbringing, perhaps she growing up had helped out with the cooking with her Mum. And through this is an opportunity to bond but also learning from one another, which gets interesting come breakfast time. Scrambled Eggs! Which I didn't know how to make at all, but she taught me how to make Scrambled Eggs to which I will always be grateful.

I know if I find a new partner, that is just as lovely, as nice, as her? And when it gets to the stage when we are to move in, then I know that I will do my best to a cook a meal for her everyday! Most days! :)
