I Love Cooking and Baking

Baking aromas bring back so many memories.

I remember the many hours I spent at our always scrubbed wooden kitchen table in our kitchen, studying for school and then university, whilst my mum and often, grandma, lovingly created culinary masterpieces from what seemed like, to me, nothing but honey coloured dough and butter and sugar.

I guess I could have studied in the peace and quiet of my room, but how can one not be tempted by the warmth from the big oven, the gentle talk between a mum and her mum and the slowly emerging aromas that drifted across the room, over my now discarded books and notes as I impatiently waited for the first slab of apple pie (my favourite) to come out of the oven, proudly cut by mum and carried to me by my grandma.

I was loved so much and so spoilt.

Then mum and grandma waited, for a brief moment for me to give my thumbs up (my mouth being full at the time!) to welcome and apprecaite another incredibly tasty treat.

I know this is where I learnt the joy of cooking although to this day, I can never replicate the taste, texture and sheer magic of mum's apple pie...

Yummy, just reading this post has brought that freshly baked aroma to mind. Now I need to bake one pronto! My Nana used to bake scrumptious pies too. When asked her secret, she'd winked and said, 'Be generous with the love, and...'
'And??? Nana??'
'....and sugar!' 😊
@hunkalove, what does that have to do with the poster's story?

Poster has all the right to have and post about memories of his childhood.

I doubt you do more than preaching from the comfort of your couch.

P.S and in case you haven't noticed this story was posted in the "I love cooking and baking" group. In other words, you are just trolling, as usual.
