Just had a date with a fool. Ever had one of those?

This guy thought that coffee and a chat would mean an all nighter. Never mind he had the social skills of a broom, his idea of conversation was all about fencing and archery, of which I know nothing, and he must have asked the prices of everything there. He suggested the place! I paid, which I don't mind, and didn't want to be embarrassed by him counting quarters or something.

He even told me his parents would love me, and that is the wrong thing to say when you've just met, and things are going awkwardly anyway.

Oh boy.

I just want a bath and a cup of good tea.

If the requisite chemistry had been present he could have talked about the ceiling tiles and you would have been enthralled. Just remember that it's not all about you.

@shaelan: I don't know about that

@shaelan: for sure it is not about me. If I ever run into him again, which I know I will, I'll talk ceiling tiles and see what happens.

@HoraceGreenley: lol nice

@CassandraFemale17: Too hard to say whether he was just feeling really awkward in general or what, but you probably did a lot less damage to him by showing up, listening to him talk about fencing, and giving him the 'date experience' you did, even if it was awkward for you. This is what I mean by it's not all about you. Some guys might need to have a few positive learning experiences over the course of their lives in order to give them the confidence which others simply take for granted. Not everyone is automatically perfectly experienced dating material. You could feel good about it since you probably helped him out in some ways, and I hope you enjoy your tea.
