Coffee anyone?

For you coffee drinkers, do you have a brand that you really like? I drink Folgers and Maxwell House, sometimes Starbucks, but I'd like to try something new. Suggestions?

I usually drink Folgers but Kicking Horse is a good brand and it comes in different varieties. I bought 3 one- kilo bags at the discount store last week for $1 a bag, it usually sells for $32 EACH.

@cherokeepatti Wow that is quite a discount! That's wonderful! 😊

@DemureDeb Oh yes it is. You can imagine why I can’t stay away from the discount stores. I go on $1 day most of the time. A lady told me that was the best day for her to find things at a good price. I was going on either $2 days or 50 cents days most of the time. I bought a lot of herbal, green and black teas too. And little True Lemon drink flavor packets (all natural ingredients)…some supplements, oil of oregano that sells for over $20 a bottle, and gluten free food and baking items.

@cherokeepatti I love going to discount stores and finding good bargains.

@DemureDeb It’s the one thing I look forward to this past 7 months. It takes some time, energy and patience to sort through the tables at each store but it’s worth it. I go to two different stores, the smaller one opens up an hour earlier than the larger one and I can get through it and pay for the stuff in less than an hour. I don’t buy much from Walmart anymore like before.

@cherokeepatti Walmart isn't always the cheapest. Like you said, it's worth the time to sort and get great bargains
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@DemureDeb not only that but they are raising prices so much. And Amazon is doing it too and so is Swanson, I was buying a lot of things from Swanson but some of their prices have really gone up in the past couple of months. So when I find supplements and other things I used to buy from Swanson at the discount stores I grab them up.
@cherokeepatti 1 dollar a bag?... no matter what currency you're talking about i'd love to see the receipt. i smell bs there. i bought a 1 kilo bag of kicking horse for 10 bucks (and that was on sale) today. never would it be 30 bucks a bag.

@beermeplease I go on $1 day. What doesn’t get sold on the bin tables on $6 Day, $4 Day, $3 Day and $2 Day will sell for $1. The last day is Wednesday and if they haven’t grabbed it up by then it’ll sell for 50 cents. Apparently you’ve never been to this type of discount store. Maybe you should go before you accuse someone of bullshit. Probably you wouldn’t have the patience to do it, takes time and work to sort through stuff on the tables.
@cherokeepatti ok....see ya wednesday. do they sell beer at that store?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@beermeplease No. it’s stuff that they buy in pallets
@cherokeepatti ok...oh and sorry for accusing you of bs'ing.😕 i just found it hard to believe.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@beermeplease Oh I didn’t believe it either till someone showed me what they were getting at those places. I thought it would be so picked over I wouldn’t find anything worthwhile. I started going on the first day and it was packed with people who will grab up the best things. Then I went on $2 days. A lady told me her favorite day to find bargains was the $1 day. I tried it and the 50 cent day. Today I found less at those two stores than I did the previous Tuesday but I found enough and saved enough to make it well worth my while. It’s always risky because I never know how many have shopped the previous days and gotten most of the good stuff and how many will be there on $1 day. These pallets are filled with Amazon returns and other store returns and closeouts from various places. Have to check everything carefully but I’ve only had one thing I needed to toss out, the seal was opened on a face cream and I didn’t check before buying. If you want to see something else almost unbelievable watch dumpster diving videos. There are couples finding so much good merchandise from corporate stores in dumpsters that they can’t use it all, they will give a lot to extended families and donate to the poor.
@cherokeepatti i wish we had those kinds of stores where i live in canada....inflation keeps going up but my wage isn't 😩
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@beermeplease The food prices are terrible in Canada. Very sad, I think it’s taxes isn’t it?
@cherokeepatti taxes are terrible here and in april they are raising the liquor tax to what is already taxed so high....the only thing not taxed here is lottery winnings (we would be taxed on the interest though) send me some lottery vibes please...i'll send you powerball vibes 🙏
