There are many reasons people drink low or non-alcoholic drinks. Health is the obvious one, but designated drivers should try to stay clean, too. Here in England, some of the 0% alcoholic drinks available are actually quite pleasant, but not necessarily my first choice. If people choose low-alcohol, or even zero alcohol, we shouldn't diss their choices. It's a free country, after all.
@chrisCA I saw a docu-movie called something like "Sugar Wars": it shows how the big food corporations shovel sugar down our throat in all kinds of ways, for example the Kellog brothers split because one wanted to add sugar to Cornflakes, the other thought otherwise. Interesting stuff.
@CharlesRomsey I don't remember that, but it would not surprise me. First Nations in Canada have the highest rate of diabetes. Pop is cheaper than milk in remote reserves.
@chrisCA Well we crushed them to adopt western standards - (I'm not even certain that standards is the right word). I have pretty low carb diet - if you get the odd caribou, living where I do, I know how to dress venison for the kitchen.
