Perfect night for a barbecue..

Joel brought home fresh hamburger patties bratwurst and chicken tenders for us to barbecue tonight along with a couple things the potato salad and pasta salad. And Grandma and the kids are going to make dirt cake for dessert.

The boys are trying to catch a goose right now I don't think they're going to be able to do it but it's entertaining to watch.

Once the sun goes down we'll probably have a fire maybe a cigar maybe a little whiskey maybe.

When I was four or five I found a wren under a bush. When I tried to pick it up, it just dragged away from me.

Dad was in his study working on his Sunday sermon and when I asked how to catch a bird, he absently advised sprinkling salt on its tail. I grabbed the salt shaker, relocated the bird and sprinkled the salt.

When I came back with the bird, which was too sick or too injured to escape, Dad was sure surprised.
