Not impressed

So far I'm not impressed with Kansas City's barbecue....... I was at an area where they were tailgating and everyone swore they had the best barbecue but it's all flavorless!

LC BBQ Its pretty different from one local place to the other. Also from one cut to the other. Burnt ends are a common choice here and fatty brisket.

For us old timers, Arthur Bryant's original place is still the king of BBQ, but the sauce is an acquired taste. It only took me one taste to be acquired, but for some it's too pepper-ish. That's OK because otherwise his place would be so packed with people that it would take waiting in line for hours :)

As much as I like Arthur Bryant's, the world's best BBQ is in Texas, and the best of the best was at a place called the Tumble Inn in Laredo.

The Tumble inn is no more, the owners, cooks and pit masters were probably called to heaven early by hungry angels and saints with pull to make things happen.
