Early morning baking

One of the things about baking sourdough bread is the discard starter when daily refreshing your starter... this morning I used some discarded starter to make sourdough discard dried cherry and chocolate chunk oatmeal cookies.

im so jealous. i miss making sourdough . i developed a gluten intolerance. they say some people can still tolerate sourdough but i tried it and i cant. those look yummy. do you use a cookie scoop?

@Penny That is a shame... I can't imagine having a gluten intolerance, but it's more common than one might imagine.

My taste test confirms the yummy part😁, and my cookie scoop is a heaping tablespoon... just a bit smaller than a golf ball.

@Ontheroad you should get a cookie scoop. it makes the process so fast and easy. you know, like a ice cream scoop with the lever but smaller

@Penny I think I will get one. Actually, I looked yesterday when I went to get some flour, but the store only had some cheap ones that look like they'd fall apart after one use.

@Ontheroad try and get the kind that has a little lever on the side. i bought an expensive one that you like squeeze the sides together to work it and it broke. the side ones are better
