Dad how come you don't drink alcohol? Question from my 8 yo daughter
I've not had any alcohol in the house since I bought my formerly rented house in late 2023. I can't justify the cost or slabs of beer, I've never liked wine or spirits, and feel it's not ethical to have it when my daughter stays with me nearly half the time.
Her mum drinks wine with her mum's friends (all women) in front of her (she told me). I don't like that but not my place to say anything.
It was an interesting question to be asked though.
I said I don't like alcoholic drinks anymore and that since I don't see myself ever having adult friends, or another girlfriend anymore, there's no point having any at home just for me. Plus I think it's an expensive thing I can do without.
