Did you stop drinking or never tried it or still drink?

calicuz · 51-55, M
I'm a Binge Drinker, and I didn't realize this until I was in my 40s and had already made a decision to stop drinking. I only drink to get drunk, I always drink and drive, and I always end up using drugs to "keep the party going." So needless to say, I am a person that doesn't need to be drinking.
I haven't had a drink at all in 6 years, and haven't been drunk in 10 years.

@calicuz I totally had the same patterns. I no longer drink or use drugs. "All Thanks Be To GOD."

I live in Wisconsin, so it's against the law not to drink. 😎

@luckranger71 The number of bars per capita in Wisconsin is truly impressive!

@luckranger71 @Somexyz @DrWatson

In the United States, the number of bars per capita is one bar per 4000 residents. In the state of Wisconsin, it is one bar per 1800 residents. Also, in Wisconsin, 10% of licensed drivers have been arrested for drunk driving.

I stopped alcoholism runs in my family and i already have a pretty severe addiction to coffee.
deadgerbil · 22-25
Never tried it. Alcoholism is in the family so I have no legit excuse to drink that crap

I used to drink while married to the third ex. I found it to be an almost necessary lubricant when interacting with his family during their parties and BBQs and so on. I used to drink when I had a live in boyfriend, who is now a live out friend.

I don't drink anymore at all. I don't need to.
I quit drinking.
I quit alcohol over 3 months ago now. I used to binge drink and it caused all sorts of problems in my life. I feel much better without it.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
Drinking has never been a problem for me. I drink and have no plans to give it up.
RuyLopez · 56-60, M
I can take it or leave it but I do enjoy going out for the night and having drinks.

I'm not much of a drinker so it's not a problem for me
I drank in my late teens in college in journalism. Then stopped. My dad was a Friday night drinker and my mom drank some then too. His dad and grandfather drank a lot more. I rarely drink. Bad memories from my childhood. I find thatvchildren of alcoholics either are alcoholics or abstainers. Studies prove this too.

Stopped after 40+ years.
MarkRichardson · 46-50, M
Never drank much, but found myself drinking less in the last decade or so.

I drive, the wife doesn't, so I guess that was one of the reasons.

I am an alcoholic and I still drink sometimes.
I stop when I sleep or work

I purposely never drank all my life but then started at age 29. I still do now.
TheCoffinFeeder · 31-35, M
Drinking is completely pointless. Just a social contagion.
