most of the places I eat out offers veteran discounts

Went out to eat last night with a friend. She thinks it is wrong that I always hand them my discount card.the place we went to offers veterans 50 percent off their meal. Why would I not take advantage of that deal... I earned it

I've had past boyfriends...and even my former spouse become embarrassed when I've sent a meal back in a restaurant. They became annoyed with me for complaining about my food, when the wait person asked how it was.

It's perfectly reasonable to complain about a dish if there is something wrong with it. I didn't do anything wrong, and I was always polite about it. However, we can't account or control the perceptions of others. There is something within them that is so deep and complex that even they may not know why they react the way they do.
