I'm told it's because they're effectively very concentrated calories !!!
The PC Police doesn't want your kids to be fat.

Health has nothing to do with being politically correct

@NCCindy: thats bs if schools werent doing shit like cutting out recess are kids would get plenty exercise
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
@NCCindy: also when a kid comes to school with real junk for lunch and are starving at the end of the day..that would be time for the school to make suggestions not when they send raisins. But hey...we want to persecute teachers who do not recognize abuse after a child dies...but then want to persecute them when they do recognize abuse. Its fucking hilarious.

@JaggedLittlePill: When I have kids, I'll take responsibility for their health, including making sure they get both plenty of exercise and eat well. If I choose to include raisins in their diet, that's my call.

@NCCindy: msybe all the teachers had a meeting in McDonald's to discuss raisins.

@JaggedLittlePill: I was also a bit concerned about some of the recent government guidelines for school lunches. When I was in middle and high school, I was an athlete. I needed a decent size lunch to keep my body fueled. I could easily eat 3000+ calories a day and not gain weight ... pretty easy when you run a several miles a day and do soccer scrimmages.
