When the hell did kids become such picky eaters?

When I was a kid I ate what I was given and just ate it cause it was food and you eat food. My cousin refuses to eat anything but frozen pizza and cheerios which is weird as hell. I didn't even think you could refuse to eat what you were given or that you would want to!
