A lifetime ago I spent a bit of my military service time at Evreux AB, enough time to get a used auto and a com-Z drivers license and cruise the area. As far as Paris, Rouen, Chartres ... and the hundreds of wonderful restaurants. 60 years later I still remember some of those meals. Even the ordinary table wines were extra ordinary :)
A favorite was the nearby Normandy Hotel restaurant in Evreux and their pepper steaks. It's still there, and has probably been there for hundreds of years.
