[image/video deleted]
Mindful · 56-60, F
@ShenaniganFoodie wow!absolutely!

Degbeme · 70-79, M
Having worked in commercial kitchens and a fast food place. I can safely say I never went hungry
MrSmartyPants · 46-50, M
I'd be definitely sneaking a bite here and there when possible!!
Mindful · 56-60, F
@MrSmartyPants sorry can't hire you then 😉
ArtieKat · M
No!!! I've worked with food all my life - and I can't resist picking at food
Yulianna · 26-30, F
@ArtieKat life is one long eat all you can buffet for you... 🤗
ArtieKat · M
@Yulianna Indeed, my sweet!
I worked at a bagel/deli place for over a year and never ate a bagel
Mindful · 56-60, F
@EldritchFox impressive! It's incredible how much business goes on over just a bagel.
@Mindful you are not kidding, that place was BUSY lol
Yeah i am not hungry when im physically active
Mindful · 56-60, F
@DeadOrbit and you're hired😆
@Mindful yay!
TheRealBarbossa · 36-40
Yep. Been there, haven't done that. And that was back when I still ate meat, even.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@TheRealBarbossa you're hired 😉
Wyldon · 61-69, M
Human food? Likely not. Pet food? I'd finally start losing weight.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@Wyldon 🤣
I used to work fast food and would always pick here and there.
fun4us2b · M
Absolutely - when I cook a meal for a large group, many times I can't eat it...I completely lose interest and want a bowl of cereal or some pretzels 🤷‍♂
ShenaniganFoodie · 41-45, M
These were a part of my valentine's day special meal I offered my clients.

NEVER eat 1

Mindful · 56-60, F
@ShenaniganFoodie wow!!!!!wait! You don't eat one or you can never eat JUST one
ShenaniganFoodie · 41-45, M
@Mindful I only had the correct number needed to fill all orders, none leftover
meggie · F
I think if it was a fish and chip shop I'd soon hate the smell and not want any. If it was a nice bakery I would definitely tuck in.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@meggie I would have to avoid a bakery... I would not be able to resist a bakery taste testing, I would sample them all and then stick with my favorite
meggie · F
@Mindful there are some beautiful bakeries where I live. They also do roast meats so you can have a hot sandwich made freshly with crusty bread.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@meggie yum!
Chefs never officially eat lunch. Instead, they just 'taste-test' an entire three-course meal's worth of food throughout the day to make sure the salt level is right.

The ultimate kitchen loophole: it’s not eating on the job if you call it quality assurance.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@DareToSayIT taste testing if you're the cook is fair
Northwest · M
When I was a teenager, I worked at a restaurant. I had a "dinner" break, where I could eat, other than that, I was working, not eating.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@Northwest that's fair
Birdbox1986 · 31-35, F
When I world for kfc there drinks were free and had chips when there were no customers or a few, but not a handful, when I had a deli ( family business) I had a few wedges chocolates, or a drink here and there
TheHammer · M
Oh I would definitely be able not to. But it would be my nature to do it. Unless it's meant for a greater good like feeding the hungry or something.
Otherwise I'm sure I'd sample everything there is more than once
TheHammer · M
@Mindful
Nachos..now you're talking heavy artillery there my friend.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@TheHammer umm surprised no one has opened a nacho specialty fast food place... there are so many different types of nacho dishes that could be made. But they are messier than tacos... maybe it takes too much time to make
TheHammer · M
@Mindful That's a good question!!
Initially, sure. But eventually I think I'd be turned from it.

Over time it becomes off-putting. Similar to preparing a large dinner, and having no appetite for what you've cooked.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@SethGreene531 yeah, over exposure can be off putting
I don't think I could
Mindful · 56-60, F
@Jasmine2026 I don't think I could at a restaraunt with a varirty of dishes, but maybe if it was just burgers I could.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@TheSirfurryanimalWales thank you for your honesty
One of my early part time jobs was at a place called Farrell’s—an old-fashioned ice cream parlor, including dressing up in 1890’s garb. I didn’t eat during shift, but for exactly two months I was practically spending my salary buying food to take home. But eventually the novelty wore off and I could work without planning to buy ice cream or their hamburgers (which were good !)
One of the many spots that closed here…
Mindful · 56-60, F
@bijouxbroussard must have held great memories for you!
Boeing · 36-40
Whenever I worked at places with food, soon I'd be disgusted by all the foods there. Apart from one place I can recall when real love was present at the preparation, there I couldn't resist.

Rest of places, I was feeling more like, better avoid putting this thing into my body. But of course I tried foods and I liked them the first couple of weeks, before I'd say, enough.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@Boeing beautiful emotions, lead to beautiful experiences, on the other hand over exposure seems to be a common food deterrent
tenente · 36-40, M
I worked many kitchens in my teens and during college. It kills your appetite. The food is good, it's just seeing it kind of stops you from feeling hungry. Best shape of my life
Mindful · 56-60, F
@tenente yes, maybe if I was constantly busy, too busy to stop to eat... and maybe too much food would turn me off to the eating
