@meggie I would have to avoid a bakery... I would not be able to resist a bakery taste testing, I would sample them all and then stick with my favorite
Absolutely - when I cook a meal for a large group, many times I can't eat it...I completely lose interest and want a bowl of cereal or some pretzels 🤷♂
Chefs never officially eat lunch. Instead, they just 'taste-test' an entire three-course meal's worth of food throughout the day to make sure the salt level is right.
The ultimate kitchen loophole: it’s not eating on the job if you call it quality assurance.
When I world for kfc there drinks were free and had chips when there were no customers or a few, but not a handful, when I had a deli ( family business) I had a few wedges chocolates, or a drink here and there
Oh I would definitely be able not to. But it would be my nature to do it. Unless it's meant for a greater good like feeding the hungry or something. Otherwise I'm sure I'd sample everything there is more than once
@TheHammer umm surprised no one has opened a nacho specialty fast food place... there are so many different types of nacho dishes that could be made. But they are messier than tacos... maybe it takes too much time to make
One of my early part time jobs was at a place called Farrell’s—an old-fashioned ice cream parlor, including dressing up in 1890’s garb. I didn’t eat during shift, but for exactly two months I was practically spending my salary buying food to take home. But eventually the novelty wore off and I could work without planning to buy ice cream or their hamburgers (which were good !) One of the many spots that closed here…
Whenever I worked at places with food, soon I'd be disgusted by all the foods there. Apart from one place I can recall when real love was present at the preparation, there I couldn't resist.
Rest of places, I was feeling more like, better avoid putting this thing into my body. But of course I tried foods and I liked them the first couple of weeks, before I'd say, enough.
I worked many kitchens in my teens and during college. It kills your appetite. The food is good, it's just seeing it kind of stops you from feeling hungry. Best shape of my life
