Do you eat fish on Fridays?
It’s woven itself into the fabric of some of our lives, and it’s recommended by lots of dietary hacks, to eat fish twice a week.
A friend of mine from England told me that when he was growing up his mother had organised a standard weekly dinner plan throughout his school years and childhood. It followed the line, fish fingers on Monday, chicken steaks on Tuesday, sausages on Wednesday, beef burgers on Thursday, fish on Friday, meat pie on Saturday and a roast dinner on Sunday! He said you could tell the month by the roast on Sunday, Chicken during January and February, lamb in March, pork in April and May, beef in June and July, chicken in August, a different cut of beef in September and October, chicken in November and Turkey in December!
I couldn’t believe it was so regimented, and he said it varied only in vegetables, pasta or chips!
