I can make them, but I’d already cooked a full roast dinner, and I couldn’t be arsed to make them from scratch - not a problem really, as I just walked to the corner shop and got some for £1.50 😁

My Anglo-American father INSISTED that my mother learn how to make them, because they are SO good with roast beef and gravy...notwithstanding the fact that his OWN British grandparents came from Gloucestershire. 🤣
Quicker to make them

Plain flour
Milk
Oil
Muffin tin
Set oven to 220* or equivalent
Sieve one cup of plain flour. Pinch of salt into a bowl.
Gradually add milk until it resembles pancake mix.
Place in fridge.
Put a little oil in Muffin tin and make sure you cover the inside top to bottom.
Put tin in oven until it starts to smoke a little.
Remove mix from fridge.
Remove muffin tins from oven.
Pour mix into tins.
Bake in oven for 20 minutes
