I tried American Girl Scout cookies and the verdict is

….
Canadian girl guide cookies are better. Much more flavour.

The American ones were not bad, but they were definitely not too flavourful although they do have much more selection.

I know you all wanted me to tell you that lol

I learned from a Girl Scout "Cookie Mom" that in the U.S., there are two different bakeries that produce Girl Scout cookies, and that for certain varieties one is much better than the other.

So, for the sake of science, you might have to eat more cookies!

@DrWatson Confirming this is true. Came to say this.

After sampling Girl Scout cookies for the last couple of years, I'd rather make a donation to the Scouts and let them keep their cookies

I would love to compare the US ingredients vs Canada ingredients. The US typically allows less superior ingredients to boost porfits
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
The USA ones have recently cheapen the ingredients. 🫤
@DeWayfarer skinny no grease.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@jackrabbit10 It sure had a whole lot more than I do. Any moose are very big. No matter where they are.
@DeWayfarer ok I have been wrong before. could be pig lard.

I know some things in the United States, where I live or different, depending upon the state. So that could be part of it to things aren’t the same as it used to be years ago also
Sadly the US versions have gotten smaller in size and more expensive at the same time. :-(
@VeronicaJane I remember when they were 50 cents a box.
@bijouxbroussard and tastier?
@VeronicaJane Yes, sadly. Less cost, but better quality.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
The peanut butter ones were the best.
@Degbeme Those and the shortbreads (called "Savannahs" and "Scot-Teas” when I sold them) were my favorites. The cookies were only 50 cents a box then, too ! 😃
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard Never had the shortbreads here

Sadly, girl scout cookies have been on a huge downward slide for a long time now and I haven't bought them in years.
@uncalled4 cost too much, buy mine at Walmart
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@jackrabbit10 It's not cost, like every other cookie, they're now 1/3 the size and suck balls. They obviously found other, cheaper ingredients which are awful.
As someone who once sold Girl Scout cookies here, they’re not to be judged by what is sold now. The quality just isn’t what it was.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard The quality for a lot of things isn't what it was even a few years ago.
@Crazywaterspring Sad but true. 🥺

Thin mint cookies!!!!!!!! ☺😋
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@sarabee1995 the best. I love eating them right out of the freezer.
@sarabee1995 Omg, everyone loved those—they were my mother’s favorites. When I picked up my boxes to sell I always set aside about four extra boxes of Thin Mints that Pop would buy, just for her.

That’s cause they don't use real butter anymore they turned cheap tho still charge a fortune 😅
Canadian cookies are best because they use Moose grease instead of butter. 🫎
StygianKohlrabi · 46-50, M
those cookies are overpriced
Jenny1234 · 56-60, M
@StygianKohlrabi IKR! 6$ usd per box.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
Ok that's fine.
By the way ..I might have to find some Girl Scout cookies myself.☺
