Do You Drink Gatorade?

I won’t drink it at all. The dyes and sugar etc in it is why. It’s making a huge amount of profits for something that we could make our self at home with inexpensive ingredients.

I do on hot days after mowing the lawn and losing a lot of sweat. I found years ago that restoring electrolytes is important to how I feel, and Gatorade does that for me. After a mild workout, I only drink water.

@exexec The dietician at cancer clinic told me I should buy Gatorade or Powerade instead of taking a pinch of salt when I was getting dehydrated. I found some electrolyte sticks that used natural ingredients. I refuse to buy dyed water with sugar in it. Watermelon with salt is also good for dehydration after sweating out your minerals. And it works quickly too.

@cherokeepatti I would prefer watermelon over Gatorade.

@exexec I had heat exhaustion one afternoon while mowing the lawn several years ago. I had taken magnesium and potassium before mowing and was stopping for water breaks to rest but got sick anyway. By the time I got the yard mowed & took my shower to help cool down I was still sick enough that I just wanted to lay down. When Ray came home I was sicker and started to get nauseated which may have been an indication that it was affecting my heart. He asked me twice if I wanted to go to the ER and I told him no. He was pacing around and went and got watermelon and salted it and told me to eat it. I did and within 15 minutes felt well enough to eat the dinner that he had cooked. It worked that quick.

@cherokeepatti Maybe I need to keep some watermelon in the fridge next summer and lock it up so my wife doesn't eat it. I had my heat exhaustion scare while golfing in 100 degree heat. I never did that again.

@exexec Yes and you can also make melon balls to freeze if you can’t finish it all in time. Dill pickle juice works pretty good too. A cashier at Walmart told me that soccer moms were buying pickle juice popsicles for their kids for when they would get overheated to keep them from getting sick.
