Do you eat breakfast?

If so, what do you usually have?

I am never hungry in the morning. But I have to put something in my stomach, otherwise my caffeine capsule will eat holes in it. So lately, I have a Larabar, or a slice of toast, or even a cube of corn bread.

@4meAndyou I made flax meal muffins this morning and they were so good. We got Turkish yogurt cheese on Thursday at a store in Oklahoma City and I needed some bread to put it on. So I made these muffins, they are so low carb they are considered keto. I ate 3 of them. I also added a little Manuka honey since it’s good for my immune system. Oooh so delicious. I will make them at least once a week and make the recipe into sliced bread when it cools down enough that I can bake longer times and not overheat the house.

@cherokeepatti That sounds wonderful!

@4meAndyou We went to the discount store yesterday and I found a Pullman bread pan, had been wanting one of those since I started baking gluten-free bread but they were too expensive. I found one for $3 and plan on using it. It has a cover that slides over it, could store the bread in it if I wanted to. Found a lot of other things too. Then we went to a couple of grocery stores. Found pomegranates for 25 cents a piece. They weren’t the large ones but even for this size you don’t ever find them for less than a dollar. I don’t know what was up with that. It was at Winco. I got a box full since we love to eat them and they are one of the top fruits for anyone with cancer. Also found good-sized bell peppers for a quarter each. Stuffed peppers on the menu in a few days.

@cherokeepatti We NEVER see prices like that around here...which is why I go to the food pantry every week and try to get bread and fresh fruit and veggies for my neighbors.

Pomegranates would sell for $1.98 each...IF they had any...which they don't...at Walmart. Also at Walmart, a green bell pepper costs 68 cents, and the red and yellow ones cost $1.48 each.

You got an awesome deal on that bread pan! Did it come with the silicone mats you can use to pull the bread out?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@4meAndyou no mats with the pan. I think you just line the pan with parchment paper and then can lift it out.

@4meAndyou Sometimes Winco has some surprises and yesterday was such a day. The red meat is too expensive, the chicken is affordable though, and their bulk bins for foods including herbs & spices make it even more affordable to shop there.

@cherokeepatti I was going to say we don't HAVE that store in Massachusetts...but I just looked it up, and there is one out in Natick! That's about an hour and half drive for me.
4meAndyou · F
@4meAndyou I just noticed it is listed as a Convenience store. Prices in convenience stores here are usually sky high.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@4meAndyou Winco is a large grocery store, it is employee-owned.

@cherokeepatti Probably a dwarf version in Natick. It's listed as a Convenience store.
