There is a huge uproar on Tik Tok about this current issue today. States are now putting limitations on what you can purchase with EBT cards. No more chips and soda and sweets can be bought anymore through the SNAP program. And that you can only buy fruits, vegetables, bread, dairy and meats. Hmmmmm. Do you believe that this is fair ? Do you believe the government should be telling US what to eat. The floor is yours SW. Best answer wins.☺🍊

Most people on food stamps either have no insurance or are on Medicare/caid. By limiting or eliminating unhealthy choices you are promoting healthier people. Is it reasonable to pay for the care and medication for a diabetic and also pay for their cupcakes? I believe helping eat is an important function but asking them to be healthy choice conscious is as important.
@Zonuss I didn't say it was a fix. I said limiting food stamps to healthy choices is reasonable. If you personally were paying for one person's food and healthcare would you not at least roll your eyes as you picked up insulin and Twinkies? So if you personally restricted one you are willing to pay for would you feel guilty or bad? The larger problem isn't the restriction the problem is healthy food is expensive. For under 10 bucks you can get a week's worth of Little Debbie and Raman. For that same 10 bucks you're not on a heart healthy diet. So if the amount remains the same the restrictions could lead to increased hunger. But on the face of your topic, it is never unreasonable for the person or group paying for something to have limits and conditions.
@Zonuss Why not ask why government housing limits the number of bedrooms to the number of people covered? Shouldn't a single person be allowed a 3 bedroom apartment for a home office and a model train room to unwind?
@marybmom No. Because I could care less about what a person eats. If you want to be picky or selective about where your tax dollars are going maybe you should start with these corrupt politicians who steal and misuse your money every day first. ☺
@Zonuss No argument about the politicians all thieves. I asked if you were personally paying for one person's food and medical care would you personally have the right to have limits on what you pay for? If the answer to that is yes you should have the right to decide what your personal money is spent on then so does any other entity. Any person group or entity should in all things have the right to decide how their resources are used.
@marybmom My point is I don't care. It's still their right to choose whatever they want to eat. This is setting a dangerous precedent for more government overreach.
@Zonuss Strongly disagree the payer has the right to choose where their money is spent. If you want to eat what ever you want work to change your circumstance. If you go to a food pantry you get what they hand out only. If I am helping you buy tires for your car you don't have the right to $20,000 worth of tires. You have the right to accept the tires I offer you. If food stamps cuts junk food you still have the right to get junk food you will just need another way to get it.
@marybmom But that's not reality. Why don't you ask the government about the jobs they have and are taking from hard working tax payers who have education from all different backgrounds. Let's see you do that. ☺
@Zonuss You posted about food stamp choices which is what I responded to if you post about accountability and I respond to it we will discuss it. My thought on the topic you posted is they have every right to decide what to pay for.
@Zonuss As I said is every politician is a thief. I have no answer how to fix that. There will never be accountability for politicians. You can tell every politician is lying if their lips are moving. If you want to fix politicians and your weapon of choice is using food stamps to buy ice cream no one reading this will be alive when you bring the politicians to their knees. This issue is a tempest in a teaspoon while the hurricane corruption thievery and deceit rages through every government level in the land. I will help you hold government accountable.........WE THE PEOPLE DEMAND FOOD STAMPS CAN BUY ICE CREAM!!! I hope that cracks the corrupt government wide open and every politician gets on board the ice cream cause for the virtue of all government. Because free government funded Twinkies is a fundamental human right and the corruption is taking it away. I'd say there are probably better places to shine your spot light.
