it was actually at a denny's in either oregon or washington . got seated and then it took over 30 minutes for server (young man) to even take just our drink order. then at least another 40 minutes to take our food order. yest it was busy but he was terrible. when we politely complained he said "well that sure sucks" he totally messed up our food orders and that's when we asked for the manager...i think she took a few dollars off the bill,,,,but that kid should not have been a server
@beermeplease I helped open a brand new IHOP outside Portland in december 1992, even when we were first opened and slammed, once seated they got their drinks and orders in within 10 minutes. I don't think it was Oregon, we had too many casual restaurants like them, Shari's, IHOP, BJ's, Plush Pippin, Carrel's, Anthony's, and Sambo's, as well as independent diners.

@beermeplease No he shouldn't have. He would have been better at managing the slop bucket :)

@NativePortlander1970 oh wait it could have been ihop...i've dined so many times there i forget where i've been. that was a one-off because that's the only shitty service i've ever received down there
@beermeplease When I was security at Caesars Palace the average cocktail floor server took home anywhere from $2K to $2.5K per night, I often escorted them to their cars, most of them could rival Victoria Secret models in their skimpy uniforms.
@beermeplease They most likely fired him that night, IHOP prides itself on quick service.
