Tell him not to??? Well, he'll then tell you "I've got to, I think I'm getting a chest infection". What he's actually got is a need to set up home oxygen therapy, but a refusal to go see the oxygen nurse until such a time that he gets a car to drive himself to the hospital in.
No, I can't get through to him that the longer he leaves this, the quicker he's going to get to taking that final car ride.
