Now I have given Popeyes a chance...and a fair one at that. They are good, I'll give them that. But there is just something special about KFC.And no, not all Kentucky Fried stores are the same. Some are better than others. So here's my take on the two franchises. Popeyes has a more settled traditional home cooked meal taste. KFC has that rich ultramodern commercialized taste but it's still a good quality type of restaurant. And I don't know if they added some new herbs and spices or what. But they are good! Don't sleep on the Colonel. And there are two types of chicken styles at KFC. The Original recipe which I hate. But that damn Extra Tasty Extra Krispy recipe is the bomb! Now which one do you think is better. Best answer wins. ☺ 🍗
both are good. id go to either one happily. there's no kfc nearby though so i pick popeyes just because of that. my homemade coleslaw comes out just like kfc's. lemme know if youd like the recipe :)
In a bowl stir together 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1 tbs vinegar. 2 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp celery seed and 1/4 tsp salt. In a large bowl combine 4 cups shredded green cabbage and 1 cup (about 2 medium sized) peeled carrots. Pour mayo mixture over cabbage and toss lightly to coat. Cover and chill 2-24 hours. Makes 4-6 side dish servings.
- I use a food processor to get that KFC texture but you can use the preshredded coleslaw bags from the store if you dont want to fuss with chopping the veggies. Still good that way but not exactly like KFC. If you do use a food processor do the cabbage first before the carrots or else it might get an orange tint.
- Recipe is adapted from Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook.
KFC has gotten too expensive, I don't go there anymore.
Popeyes can be great, but also I recently saw a video for top 3 restaurants with the most health violations across the USA (note, this could be BS, but just saying be careful)
3) Golden Corral 2) Waffle House 1) Popeyes
And I found the video [media=https://www.tiktok.com/@usatoprank/video/7502650339087109407]
Popeyes one is in UK. They have unlimited drink offer which is great. However regular drink (or soda) cost £2.40 and Original Coke is about 30 pence (??) More Defintely higher. However, Original Coke IS available to pour along with original sodas! 🤣 So just pay £2.40 and help yourself to original coke.
Definitely Popeyes. At least Popeyes never gave my family blood filled undercooked chicken wings or food with hair in it, but KFC did both of those things to us.
@Zonuss Me and my folks wouldn't have had such a problem if it weren't for the fact that just about any of the KFCs we went to did stuff like this to us. They also would never have any food ready when we ordered and we'd have to wait like a half hour for everything, and other times they just completely messed up our entire order. So then what would we do? We would have to wait around even longer another half hour just for them to remake our entire order and get it right.
kfc aint what they used to be back since i remember them in the 70s/80s.... if you were to ask this question then, kfc would "blow me down'' popeyes....
Popeyes is leaps and bounds above KFC in my opinion. Way more flavor and it's crispy instead of soggy KFC is okay but it's very over rated and the sides suck
