I interpret that "best" date as the last date to initially break the seal, opening the container for the first time. For milk, once open for the first time it's just a few days before it sours. Interesting that half and half has a very long "best used" date, weeks into the future. Much longer than whole milk or 1% or 2%. What's different about half and half that gives it a longer shelf life?
@Heartlander There’s truth to this.
I opened the first bag and it was bad a few days ago. The current bag is fine, which I just opened two days ago, despite being five days past the best before date.
So I’ll keep on truckin with it. Or should I say “keep on chuggin” 🤭
