why is sugar in most things you consume now

i saw a comment the other day by someone who advised another person on how to lose weight fast, he said avoid both sugar and carbs completely.....but sugar and carbs are in virtually everything you eat and drink now so how can you avoid it?

We call it the holy trinity of processed food. Sugar-salt-fat. Without one, two or all three it would be so bland that no one would buy it. For foods that naturally lack all three it gets added in processing. Foods labeled “low fat” usually mean high sugar or high salt. Foods labeled “Low sodium” (salt) means high fat or high sugar.
