I'll never get why people eat those. And I've been living for 30 years in a sea location, home of one of the biggest European fish markets

The fascination of gambling with typhoid fever?

@Elessar Wait, you can get typhoid from raw oysters?
Elessar · 26-30, M
@LordShadowfire Yep 😬 I mean if they're picked in clear seawater they should be safe, if they're picked anywhere close to a river mouth or other sources of dirty water it's risky

@Elessar Oh, thank goodness. Here I thought...

See, we were going to do oyster shooters on Christmas Eve, because I can't handle oyster stew anymore due to the sudden onset lactose intolerance. So I thought for a moment that it was just all raw oysters.

@LordShadowfire I'm not sure if the risk is zero with either, but in my case personally I won't eat anything that is from the sea raw, just the smell puts me off (unless I'm just cleaning it, in that case I don't mind) 😅

Mussels (cooked), bivalves (also cooked) all the way over oysters and such

@Elessar I'm starting to think you might actually be an oyster, lol.
