why are food products made so much smaller than they used to be

like for example; chocolate bars and weetabix cereal biscuits, they're made a lot smaller now...when i grew up during the 80s they were a lot bigger.

Everything is smaller so that they can still charge you a little bit more, while giving you a little bit less. That way they still make money when the cost of their ingredients and shipping skyrocket.
