What do you DISlike about restaurants in your home town? ..

.. or anywhere! .. Apart from issues around tipping, the big restaurant annoyance for me is the amount of hard interior surfacing that boosts the noise level. Sometimes I poke my head in the door and decide 'No thanks'; Or I'll leave without ordering, after sitting for a couple of uncomfortable minutes. My favorites are the few where MW and I can still enjoy a quiet meal together.

Bland mediocre food that is expensive. Chain restaurants where nothing is really made from scratch on the premises.
@JimboSaturn I do love Canada but unless I’m mistaken it’s not known for its culinary prowess.

@OlderSometimesWiser The big cities have their fancy innovative restaurants and is very cosmopolitan but the suburbs are filled with chain restaurants; I miss the independently owned places.
@JimboSaturn It’s sad seeing so many mom-n-pops go under.

@OlderSometimesWiser I agree, it make our culture so flat and homogenous. Doesn't matter where you are, it's all the same place.

@JimboSaturn But you've exported Poutine to the rest of the world - and what's more fulfilling than posh cheesy chips when you've had a skinful of ale! 🤣😂🤗
