Do you think Subway introduced the slicing meat in store campaign just to slice meat thinner and reduce how much actually gets on a sandwich?
Their marketing people will say it is because customer have a perception that slicing meat in the store makes it seem fresher. It also counters the Jersey Mike's claim to fame.
I believe it makes a slice of deli meat thinner than it was before they instituted slicing. I had some turkey sandwiches in which I had to look for the meat and when I found it, I could see through it as it was so think that it as translucent.
