@meggie There's a former McDonald's down the street from me that was shut down a few years ago. Now its just a boarded up building with graffiti on it, no new development or anything happening at that site. Oakland recently became the first place to ever lose its In-N-Out Burger restaurant because of all the unchecked crime at the location - cars broken into, windows smashed, people being robbed. The company said enough was enough for what employees and customers were dealing with.
@graphite it is true that Macdonalds encourage crime. I can smell people smoking weed in the car park as I pass by and have witnessed several car accidents. The car park is littered with rubbish and those little silver gas cylinders. There's always people asking for money and all the school kids flock there after school.. something really needs to be done about it
@meggie The local high-scale mall near me wouldn't renew McDonald's lease because it wanted more upscale restaurants, apparently. The McDonald's did great business but the mall managers simply didn't want them there anymore, from what I've heard.
