@NativePortlander1970 yes,a lot of yummy food here but really no oil,vinegar and oregano provided here on Subway😅I am a regular customer there.I can prove it by what the guy wrote on the wrapper when he saw me😂
@Teachocolate TBH if we had the kind of street food here in iowa, where I currently live, like You all have in Asia, I think Subway wouldn't be on my list.
@DrWatson As fresh as their fries are, cut just before frying, they're flimsy. they need to be properly double fried, first blanched at a lower temp about 325F for a few minutes, allowed to cool in the fridge, then finished off at a higher temp, about 375F for about 90 seconds, just before serving.
@PerfectionOfTheHeart It used to be that I would make a point of stopping at a Steak 'n Shake whenever I was driving in the Eastern part of the country. (The dividing line seems to be Illinois.) I used to love them. But the last few times, I was disappointed.
Either they changed, or I've changed. Or I've been stopping at the wrong ones lately.
Five Guys hamburgers and fries. A couple of times a year I allow myself a small plain burger with mushrooms and small fries. My best guy friend brought some over around my birthday.
@DrWatson What I love about their burgers is that they don’t need condiments, they’re still flavorful plain. Some places burgers don’t taste good unless a lot of sauces, cheese, etc. are on them. Their fries are indeed the best, no doubt that they’re potatoes. 😊
