Trying again and learning new things

So, all of my life I've not liked asparagus. But people around me do. When cooking, I take others' tastes into account as well. So I threw some asparagus on the grill, after rolling it in olive oil and sprinkling it with garlic and parmesan.

Every now and then I'll try again something I know that I don't like. I've had a few foods I dislike growing up that I find my tastes have either changed or it was just a matter of preparation in my past experiences.

So I tried the asparagus, fairly certain I wasn't going to like it. Turns out I thought it was pretty good. Not amazing to where I'm going to start eating it all the time, but good enough that I'd be willing to eat it again.

Moral of the story is, don't set yourself in stone. Dare to try things again. Especially when it comes to food.

I don't think I liked asparagus until my mid 30s either.

I couldn't agree more... take a chance, try new things and keep what you like, toss the rest. I will say this, nothing I've ever done or seen done to liver makes it even look good🤣

@Ontheroad that is a flavor I've not yet been bold enough to try again, haha. My grandfather loved it, so had it a few times growing up. 🤢

I have been trying foods I didn't like as a kid too. Turns out I now like zucchini and squash. Who would have ever thought. 🤷‍♂️

I grew up hating it too
