Just got through making a batch of Kousa fruit (Japanese Dogwood) Jelly...

Turned out better than expected; tastes like a mix between honey, applesauce, and peach. Took maybe 20 minutes to pick 4 gallons worth, and that made 26 pints of Jelly...

got two trees several years ago, things are loaded with berries every fall, didn't realize until recently that they're actually edible considering most animals and insects don't bother with them.

Pretty healthy too actually. Highly recommend.

I had no idea they had edible fruit, the flavor sounds delightful.

@cherokeepatti they have a peachy taste right off the tree, skins are too tough to be edible though; seeds probably aren't very good either.

My grandma had a couple of bushes out the front of her house.

Outstanding! I also home can foods.
